During the ceremony, Jean-Claude Degand, CEO of Moviken presented the award Mobilité 2.0 to the Angoulème transport authority, STGA ( 29 November 2011 ). Monsieur Degand took the opportunity to emphasise the wide range of innovation and service improvements provided by Information Technology for public transport passengers, all of which can be achieved under the responsability of transport organising authorities.

In that context, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) specialising in the ICT definition such as Moviken have an essential role to play in the service of transport authorities in France and also in export markets.

Clermont-Ferrand chooses Moviken for their High Quality Bus Service

The public transport authority of the French city of Clermont-Ferrand has decided to equip the "B" line of its HQBS, to be put into service in June 2012, with the on-board passenger navigation system NAVIBUS from Moviken-SLE.

With an innovative information system which offers a visual presentation and a cartographic style particularly adapted to the needs of public transports passengers, Clermont-Ferrand aims to equip its transport network with an information system offering exactly the high service quality delivered by NAVIBUS.

iTransports chosen by the European Commission

In the latter part of 2011, the European Commission organised a competition aimed at selecting the best cross-border journey-planning systems and information suppliers covering several member states.

From the projects submitted by French organisations involved in public transport, two were chosen, of which the iTransports journey-planner was one.

iTransports provides public transport information across the whole of metropolitan France as well as well as significant parts of neighbouring states. It is intended to extend its coverage to all the European networks.

iTransports is a system conceived and developed by Moviken.

The Forum SMSC gathers together the main players in the development of NFC ( Near Field Communication ) technology who are engaged in the early experimentation realized with mobile phones, notably in Nice & Strasbourg, the regional capital of Alsace.

Members of the FSMSC include mobile phone service providers ( Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom ), transport operating companies and players of everyday life ( SNCF, RATP, Veolia Transdev, Keolis, ADP, Caisse des Dépôts ), banks and financial entities ( BNP Paribas, CIC, Société Générale, ... ), various industrial companies ( Dassault Systèmes, gemalto, Nokia, Samsung,... ) and twelve small and highly innovative firms, of wich Moviken is one.

Meeting to expand the multimodal information in Europe

Responding to the invitation from the U.I.T.P ( International Union of Public Transport ) and 9292 ( Dutch national travel information system operator ), Jean-Claude Degand ( Moviken SA - France ) & Ian DAY ( Moviken Ltd- UK ) have signed an agreement made between twelve top players in the field of public transports to accelerate the development of multimodal information at a European scale.

Among the signatories, we can note HVV, the Hamburg Transport Association, TMB in Barcelona, the Flemish operator DE LIJN, the Helsinki transport operator and the Norwegian information service organisation Trafikanten.

Val' Entrepreneur Price

Moviken has received the " Val'Entrepreneur " prize awarded by Mr Frédéric Roses, the Val-Maubuée SAN Vice-president, to recognise Moviken's development since its creation; and especially since 2005, date of Moviken's relocation to the " Cité Descartes " in Marne la Vallée.

On this occasion, Jean-Claude Degand, Moviken's General Manager, spoke of the importance in the location for the development of the Group, being a meeting place between the world of research, universities & high schools' and that of innovative companies.

Rencontres Nationales des Transports Publics

Moviken has taken part in the 23th National Meeting for Public Transportation held in Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace. The company presented its innovative solutions for onboard navigation to the most important French actors in the field of public transport.

On the occasion of the \" 19ème Congrès du Club des Villes & Territoires Cyclables \" located in the French city of Dijon, Moviken presented its research work about cyclability, carried out in partnership with IFSTTAR, CNRS & CETE Normandie Centre.

APTA's EXPO

3-5 October 2011

Moviken exhibited at APTA\'s Expo ( American Public Transport Association ) in New-Orleans. The exhibition and conference gathered together around one thousand exhibitors from all around the world, including all the most important decision makers in the field of public transport, from across the United States.

Website dedicated to Cycling

September 2011

Moviken won the tender launched by the Ile de France Regional authority to design a website dedicated to cycling in the region. This will include specialized maps and a journey planner adapted to the specific needs of the cyclists.

This initiative, from an important French region, is innovative and constitutes a strong encouragement for cycling in the nation's capital and its surrounding region.

For Moviken, this will allow the consolidation of the considerable R&D realized within the scope of the project named " Port-Vert" in partnership with IFSTTAR, CNRS & CETE Normandie Centre.
